Proposal for a building for social housing in Campos Elíseos, São Paulo.
PROJECT MEMORIAL
The Princesa Isabel housing complex was designed at the corner of Duque de Caxias Avenue and Rio Branco Avenue, facing Princess Isabel Square. The goal was to create an environment that provides quality of life, well-being, and functionality for its residents. In addition to meeting basic housing needs, we aimed to integrate aspects such as comfort, accessibility, security, and sustainability. The project considered the urban and social context, promoting interaction among people and the creation of spaces that encourage socialization, mobility, and community living. With the use of reinforced concrete, glass, and wood, the design incorporates many openings and tree-lined spaces, particularly on the ground floor, to integrate with the surroundings. The ground floor is open and elevated by pilotis to allow free circulation of both people and residents, as well as to enhance air circulation. The building is multifunctional, providing its inhabitants with essential activities for a good quality of life. Adjacent to the bike rack, we proposed a laundry facility, and on the ground floor, we designed a café with a bookstore on the second floor. On the intermediate roof, an outdoor gym was designed, and on the top roof, a pool with a garden beside it, where residents can plant whatever they wish to eat.
